In fourth grade we moved into a house with a barn sorta nestled into a hill....the house was cool, but what really did it for me was the natural stadium configuration of the yard, with its ten plus foot wall all the way around the outfield with the barn comprising most of right field, it truly was a field of dreams....over the next few years it quickly became known as the Kerridome by the cast of characters that would show up for daily whiffle ball battles....our strike zone was an old lawn chair affectionately dubbed “rick Dempsey” after the orioles catcher of the day...my nana told me she enjoyed watching the action from the cheap seats, her 2nd floor living room window across the street!
